Re: question time

What's more, our lads ended up losing 5-0 in front of a paltry Wolves crowd of 3,500, despite the presence of England international George Haworth in our side.

Just the one...and he didn't actually play for Stanley - he played for their predecessors, Accrington FC.

. . . and, while in Quiz Mode, here's one that's won me a few pints (the question is courtesy of Jimbo, as I recall).

Name the former Accrington Stanley player (still alive) who is the holder of a World Cup Winners Medal.

Easy!! Paul Grayson. But it's a shame we couldn't add Rachel Brown as well.

Re: question time

Four-Four-Two had an article on penalties last year, which included the following snippet from The Accrington Observer's match report on the Wolves' game -

"The first half was well contested, in the second moiety, the homesters scored four goals in a very short time, one of these being while Elliott was off the field changing his knickers, while another was scored by a penalty kick under the new rule."
