Re: Stalybridge Celtic Fixture

Having seen most of the PSF my observations are

Watson out of is depth /not good enough

dawber not ready/needs to go out on loan

dunbavin not sure/ heart tells me we need a commanding new keeper

carver and webber to play together up front

defence aldred/Atkinson in middle liddle as sweeper hunt and Wilson bombing full backs

I have a feeling Naismith back on season long loan

For me great to see Marcus get off the mark well worked goal and thought once he went off we were constantly on the back foot, I agree with what you said about Watson and I thought Luke Greaves had a tremendous game.

Luke Joyce looked sharper gaining fitness and Windass & Gray did okay.

The number four for Stalybridge was exceptional, I thought Sean McConville and their number nine also had good games.

Another game that's all eight pre-season ones done and thoroughly enjoyed them, plenty of talking points some good performances & one abject one, some new grounds ticked off and some great food and beverages consumed on the way.

Next time can we do a pre-season tour Abroad?

On Stanley On
I Just try and keep it real Pendle,we played a average BSN team, who had conceeded ten goals in there last couple of games.
Carver worked hard in the first half, but i only seen glimses of improvement since i watched him for Marine(same standard).
He improved in the second half when we went 4-3-3 with Grey leading the line and he was coming in from the inside left channel.
Hes a far better player when facing ,rather than back to goal(hit the post with a 25 yard rocket).
Bags of potential, but so have others, needs to keep improving

I agree about the facing & also think the goal will be a monkey off his back & a chance to push on.

Re: Stalybridge Celtic Fixture

There have been loans reported on the BBC website almost every day throughout July.

Yesterday Snakeville snaped up Blackpool veteran Ian Evatt to bolster their defence.

Re: Stalybridge Celtic Fixture

AFC Wimbledon have recently signed Charlton Athletic Striker Michael Smith on a loan deal until January. Smith was on loan to Stanley for a short period in 2011/12 season. I thought he wasn't that bad at all.

that's a bit harsh Smudgie, he was only here for a month and then had one injury - a season finishing one!!!

Nowt to say he's been injured elsewhere

Re: Stalybridge Celtic Fixture

Agree, don't know his medical history but, in the short spell at Stanley, I thought he looked a good prospect. Maybe we'll see when we play The Wombles (assuming he's fit).

Re: Stalybridge Celtic Fixture

..and talking of Wimbledon, can someone explain what the 'A' stands for in AFC that puts them top of the league at the moment, ahead of Stanley?
Aardvark?
