Tannoy

I wonder when will the tannoy will be repaired. We were promised in the friendly against Stalybridge that it would be repaired for the Canvey Island game, but still not repaired. Surely it is important to have a public address system working properly, what if a doctor was needed - no announcement, what if a car was blocking an entrance for an ambulance - no announcement, what if there was a bomb scare - no announcement. It must be a health and safety matter. We have never had the best tannoy system but it was always better than this. Against Exeter it was not working at all.

Re: Tannoy

we have had a few problems with the pa system this season, and despite the company that looks after it trying a few fixes, unfortunately we are now probably looking at having to install new parts in the set up. a somewhat expensive job but obviously it is important to have a working pa system on matchdays.

thank you for your patience so far...

Re: Tannoy

Couldn't agree more. It's been very poor for a long time. I'm sure there would be an issue if there was a safety problem in the ground.

Re: Tannoy

A fully functional and effective Public Address system is an absolute prerequisite of ground safety. All spectators deserve to be protected by this primary method of communication.

Similarly, the Ground Stewards must have reliable radio systems so that, amongst other things, they are able to coordinate emergency procedures in the event of a failure of the Public Address system.

The Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Club has been consistently at the forefront of requiring that these standards are (a) sought, (b) achieved and (c) maintained.

The Supporters' Club has, on many occasions, offered to pay for - and to implement - these essential safety features.

Re: Tannoy

The official supporters club was formed to raise money for the club in times of need. the club arn't (supposedly) in as much need however the supporters club still has the same role. to raise money for the club. that is it's main role. the committee then decides what to pay for wiht that money.. Most recently £1000 was donated towards toilet facilities in the new clayton end when it arrives.. in the past we have paid for changing room heating, dugouts and many many other things...

Re: Tannoy

The Official Supporters' Club is very happy to announce that , following a meeting between the OSC and the ASFC Chief Executive Rob Heys, significant improvements to the PA will be made in the very near future. Probably not in time for Sat or Tues, but it's a possibility.
The OSC will fund this part of an ongoing PA update which will be modular , i.e. it can easily be extended to the anticipated ground developments such as the Clayton End.

So please support ALL Supporters' Club fundraising activity, and especially Sparkie's (see other thread) !
