A pity about Luton grabbing a point at the death, but never mind, a good day's work there.

I had to miss the match today but I was kept up to date by my daughter.
Sounds like Jackson did well in scoring his goal to earn a valuable three points

Well......as you'd expect...they all did a short run up with Billy and then Kayden stuck the ball in the net! Just the usual really.....

Not been down for few years with running and saturdays. Clayton end looks very nice. Sent my hours fixing bits years ago. Good to see club running in right way. On stanley on will see when I'm free again .

Re: The vs Cambridge match thread.

That's a game we would have lost in the past. Rode our luck at times nearly gifted them a goal (well done Chappy) and a header against the bar. However that said on another day we'd have been three up in 15 minutes.
It going to be topsy turvy right down to the wire so strap yourselves in.
Bound to be shocks along the way but I'm quietly confident.
Lads were all saying pitch was really a difficult surface today.

Re: The vs Cambridge match thread.

Predicted this would be a close run thing - and so it proved!
Stanley started well but Cambridge soon got a grip on the midfield & we resorted to too many aimless high balls out of defence, particularly first half.
As most of their team were giants compared to our lads, the ball just kept coming back.
Chappers pulled-off some brilliant saves to keep the scoreline blank at half-time.
Second half we became much more effective with some slick passing & wing-play.
Time & again we got behind their defence & put dangerous crosses into the box.
Unfortunately, our forwards were never in the right place at the right time.
Then we got a lucky break! Jackson chased a high ball into the box & right in front of the Clayton End, clearly fouled his marker to gain the advantage he needed to score the vital goal.
I say lucky break, because neither ref nor linesman spotted it & despite the protestations of the whole Cambridge team, the goal stood - PHEW!!!!!
Kayden got the 'mom.' award, but once again our defence were the heroes, particularly Dunne, who imho was outstanding.
Looking forward to watching the tv highlights tonight - not for Stanley's close run victory, but Morecambe's amazing demolition of our most dangerous rivals - Wycombe.
All hail the mighty Shrimps!

Funny how people see games in different ways. Dunne did ok for me - but not outstanding. Needs to work on his distribution. Nearly gave the game away with a sloppy pass allowing Ikoeazu through one on one.

Bit unfair to criticise Dunne for poor distribution.
Agree that pass was a major blunder by him, but he wasn't the only one passing to our opponents.
Brown, Kee & Conneely were guilty on more than one occasion of badly misplaced passes.
Apart from that one mistake by Dunne, I thought he coped well with their enormous forwards, made numerous defensive headers & last ditch tackles to prevent goal attempts.
