VMI Trophy
Stanley v Harwood VMI trophy
We lost this trophy last season on penalties and won it the season before on penalties.. Are we playing it again this season? We should be given a chance to win it back surely? |

due to pre-season fixture congestion with both sides this year's vmi trophy will be contested mid week early in the new season...

VMI Trophy used to be the John Duckworth Trophy and local teams competed for it. It used to be more than 2 teams back then. I remember Clitheroe being in it, but the others escape me.
The VMI name is indeed Vending Machine Ingredients. I may have dreamt this, but I seem to recall ex-Harwood Chairman Chris Hickey having something to do with them.... maybe he owned it. As I say, it's a good while ago, so maybe I'm off the mark with this.
