Re: vs Chesterfield
Coley should tell the players to provoke a ruck 20 minutes into every game, because it gets the passions going.
To reiterate what somebody else has already said - it was nice to finally get excited about a game again.

Re: vs Chesterfield
More thoughts from the Chesterfield messageboard - thanks very much:-
"I thought the little band of home fans behind the goal did their team proud throughout the 90mins, although we had big numbers again our vocal support was poor in comparison.
The Stanley fans in the pub were very friendly, their ground was crap, but both their players and fans performed with passion, which was lacking from us (players and fans alike and Ricco for that matter)."

Re: vs Chesterfield
Also from the spireites forum (doesn't thius sound familiar??):
"Poor midfield passing (usually to an opponent,)
the lump it ball to [Ward]. (Hello!!! 9 time out of 10 it will fail.)
second to the ball in tackles.
lump it kick the back straight to an opponent.
no apparent tactical plan to win the game.
no attempt to play football and get behind them like good teams do.
no imagination. (persist with the tired old game plan regardless.)
no individual player improvements.
no rehearsed moves from the training ground.
and for heavens sake DO SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE FLIPPIN CORNERS.
The only tactic I could make out was. 'lump it and we might get lucky.' Not good enough."
.....and they are talking about Chesterfield not Stanley!!

Re: vs Chesterfield
IMO
1st half
no balance in the team.
I know I have long questioned miles, but today he was as lazy as ever.
Dont get me wrong, he has got ability - that is the frustrating thing. He is just bone idol.
To often it would be richardson behind him going forward and providing the width, with Miles constantly going inside rather than pulling out the defence and creating space for Craney.
I also thought the central midfield constantly left gaping holes behind them in the first half.
Williams was poor and was lucky not to be booked for a handball, roberts saved him a few times.
Graham Branch highlighted the dis-unity in the squad, a few times Craney, Miles, Dunbavin and Harris shouted at each other.
Second half - was won by roscoe, the crowd and dare I say it shaun Whalley.
For all his faults, he does try. And he caused them problems and limited their right back from supporting their offensive play.
Branch and Miles are 2 journeymen who are here for the wage check.
I think we might struggle to get rid of them.
The sunderland kid didnt look great. He was a bit nervous, Branch failed to provide adequate support and he didnt seem to have much of a football brain.
Maybe it will come with games?
BTW- for once a 2 great tactical moves by Coleman in Proccy and Whalley. It looks like being dropped has done Proccy the world of good.

He's played over 300 games in his career, showing no sign yet.
Got to admire your patience, though.
