Re: vs Shrewsbury

Have to say it was a blatent pen as well for Sean, the defender took his ankle from underneath him even from where we were we could see that, ref was only about 5ft away as well, have to agree with Dan about the ref's decisions today they were dreadful, we stopped commenting towards the because it was all we were talking about!!! It was the most frustrating thing to watch and there was nothing you could do but watch it unfold..... As well as that I thought ref's were there to make their own decisions not to react to the crowd or what players say!!! Think on Mr Penn!!!

Cue embarassing why the hell did anyone bring up Huey Lewis while Coley's reading this cheers guys!!! That's me going red in the next press conference lol!

Kaz x

P.S. Forgot to mention, Jay Harris getting elbowed on more than 3 occasions today and not reacting, he was good today and hardly ever gets a mention!

Re: vs Shrewsbury

I'm still not happy with todays events, still in a bad mood and I'm half way through a bottle of red. Why are these second rate refs allowed on the pitch. I've not heard any of Coley's comments yet, did he have anything to say after the game that can be posted?

Karen & Dan.....thanks for today, it was nice to hear you people. Did cotty have ou't to say about the game, and did you wish him happy birthday Kaz....

Shrewsbury fan posting on Hereford's messageboard:-

"Accrington were definitely one of the better teams we have had at the Meadow this season. They attacked quickly and often and looked very comfortable in defence. First time i've seen them this season and was left feeling a little surprised as to their league placing.
They definitely deserved a point, possibly more."

Not much consolation, is it John?

I'm normally in the main stand when I attend the FES but I will be on the Clayton End on Saturday.

I hope its as good a game as it was at Macclesfield (all three great Stanley goals) but without any one getting injured and without them scoring.

Re: vs Shrewsbury

I couldn't agree more about the pathetic referee and linesman that's already been said.
Having just watched The League Review earlier tonight how obvious does a penalty have to be before it is given? the clip clearly shows both feet are taken away without the defender being anywhere near the ball and then to book the lad for diving one has to start questioning are referees cheating?
The linesman at the Stanley end couldn't see the Shrewsbury forwards hiding in offside positions in the shadows of the far stand!!! He really was pathetic.
Don't know if anyone noticed the referee dancing to our drummer when he was stood near us at the Stanley end but I thought then that he was taking the **** out of us. It's either that or Gay Meadow was living up to it's name.
I am beginning to wonder whether there has been a vendetta launched against Stanley this season as the standard of refereeing decisions resulting us losing matches this season has been scandalously above average.
Come on Stanley let's stuff Macclesfield (referee permitting) and upset the powers that be, and stay in the league.

Re: vs Shrewsbury

Ironic isnt it, that the name of the referee was A. Penn, when thats exactly what he refused to give and contributed to our defeat!!!

Moving ends at half time?? How tin-pot

I think perhaps the very opposite is true, the team have to stop questioning the referees and learn to treat their decisions as final no matter how misguided.
I suspect making a complaint against a referee is like making a complaint against policeman, guaranteed to to get all the other Bobbies backs up. ......... allegedly!
