I think the general rumour is Luke Joyce

Re: When should we know who's staying?

Aldred is a key signing, pretty sure Joycy will sign,as an outside bet,I would go for Proccy(if he was to do a deal with Preston!)

Proccy is in Las Vegas at the moment so that won't be on the cards

I make a maximum of 5 we're waiting on news from, out of last seasons squad.

Podge, Boco, Joyce, Molyneux and Jeffers.

Joyce reckoned in th'Ob that he was about to sign, just needed another zero adding or summat.

Podge is hoping to sort something today (although it doesn't say where )

No real word from the other two other than the odd "I don't mind going back" from Jeffers.

Re: When should we know who's staying?

That leaves Francis Jeffers, Lee Molyneux, Rommy Boco & Padraig Amond. I'm assuming that we won't pay a transfer fee to bring Nicky Hunt back.

Sounds like Podge is keen to stay with us and Molyneux is certain to leave. Jeffers and Rommy? I'd be happy if we managed to get even one of those for next season.

With such a small playing budget, these two will need to really want to play for us next season (i.e. not for the money). I'm sure Beatts will want to keep a significant portion of his budget open for some of the long-term loanees that he seems convinced he will be able to attract to Stanley. Let's hope so as it's a very young team at the moment.

Re: When should we know who's staying?

Another un signed 2 yrs can only be a good thing in my eyes, anyone improves significantly, Stanley command a fee.

Re: When should we know who's staying?

Whalley Red's noting of 'a very young team at the moment' has stimulated JB into checking on the availability of another young rising star....'the best header of a ball since George Stewart'. one Stanley fan was heard to remark !.......A years supply of Farley's Rusks and Ostermilk could clinch the deal... so get him in James !.

Re: When should we know who's staying?

Rob Heys has just tweeted that there is "more good news to come before the end of the week".

Hopefully it is Hunt ... he has stated his desire to stay close to his home (he has a young child) and Rotherham clearly couldn't find anyone to pay them a fee for Hunt.

More probably it is Podge who, if so, may as well not bother unpacking as Beattie's taking those players signed-up to Portugal for some warm weather training at the end of this week!
