Re: Wycombe home thread.

agree cashy ref was useless, josh looked like a super star in the making, run down every ball great from the young lad hope JC was impressed enough to start him next game, from what I saw the ref was totally wrong on the sending off, I presume it will be contested

Re: Wycombe home thread.

Poor first half from both teams. May as well strung a net across the pitch and played head tennis.

Much improved second half from Stanley. That essential ‘defensive’ midfielder role wasn’t missed and young Woods was a revelation; amazing just what enthusiasm and genuine pace can do when defenders are put under pressure. Well done to him.

As to the ref - what did anyone expect from Madley? He proved himself to be totally c**p incorrectly sending off Conneely against Ipswich last season, and he is clearly still c**p.
I’ll be interested to watch the sending off but, from where we stood, Clark had the ball, pushed it in front of himself and was about to take a shot when the Wycombe player dived in feet first. There was no way Clark could have pulled out.
However, thank god, from acting like he’d broken his leg, the Wycombe player managed miraculously to run almost off the pitch when ordered to by Madley, even without help from the NHS.

Re: Wycombe home thread.

It was a match of “Two Halves” today.
First half Stanley were a bit uncoordinated and lacking real ‘drive’.
Stanley continued their generous recent play again giving opponents multiple chances to score, which Wycombe did twice!
At least we got one goal back through Adedoyin.
The second half was a total contrast as Coley and Jimmy did a double substitution at half time bringing on Harry Pell and young Josh Woods. It certainly changed the match as our energy levels and physicality certainly improved.
We fully deserved to win the match with two great goals for Sykes and Pell.
The Clayton End was superb again and we were bouncing as the match was ending.

Then the most ridiculous and totally wrong Red Card ever seen awarded by a referee who, in my opinion, had not had a particularly good match. In the EIGHTH minute of supposedly SIX added minutes, Clarke was in possession of the ball and lined up to shoot. Clark was tackled at right angles by a Wycombe player running across Clark’s attempted shot. How on earth the referee could see a red card for Clark is totally beyond me. If a foul was to be called it should have been against the Wycombe player for flying in with no chance of getting the ball.

Just one other negative issue from the match was the throwing of a flare on to the pitch when we scored our first goal. Our super Stewards did some great work and rooted out two young teenagers and led them out of the ground early in the second half. The stewards seemed to be looking for a third protagonists and an announcement was made later in the match for the Stanley supporters to follow the instructions of the Stewards as we were leaving the ground. At the end of the match though we departed in the normal manner. I feel that we really need to install a video camera behind the goal in the Clayton End pointing directly down into the central area of the terrace which would allow the senior stewards to pin point the idiotic culprits. I think that the two young lads escorted from the ground today were not regulars as I did not recognize them at all.
However, in the final match analysis, Stanley came back to score a superb victory against a really good side.
I have always been a fan of Gareth Ainsworth since he became manager at Wycombe. But OMG, he used to frustrate me when he was playing for them because he scored so many goals against us in important matches.
Stanley WON today though, to give us three important points in our initial quest for League One safety, and in our seemingly unlikely outside chance of getting into the Play Offs.
ON STANLEY ON.
KEEP THE FAITH.

never know why madley is refereeing anyway even at our level. on the premier league list, leaves or was pushed from it and a season or two later he walks back was never a patch on his brother anyway. as for the wycombe player he might have pushed saving the NHS to another level.

Choirboy and all

Yes we have CCTV (his is constantly recording) in all areas of the stadium. Sadly we are having to use these camera on home fans rather than at most ASFC home games on the away fans.

We will review this footage so we can identify those responsible for this unacceptable behaviour.

The announcement at the end of the game to follow this instructions of the stewards was part of a serious medical emergency which was being dealt with by our crowd medical staff. We didn't want the NHS ambulance and their staff to be impeded as fans left at the final whistle.
Thank you to all who helped as they left the Wham

I'm afraid that, at least as seen by me on TV in slo-mo, an appeal against the red card would be a waste of money. Mitch's first touch was heavy, the ball went well ahead of him and the Wycombe player collected the ball before Mitch collected him. Probably unintentional with his mind on a shot, but would be classed as reckless.

true. that reckless word has really been a get out for refs as they do not now have to think of intent before making a decision. a good or a bad thing. think we all have our opinions where possibly they change depending on which side is the wrong doer.

Yes, I suspect you’re correct, Chimer. From behind the goal Clark’s first touch didn’t look so bad.
