Christmas Lights

Willow and I drove through Morcambe tonight to see their spectacular Christmas light display...........and as the saying goes, "What you see is what you get" Well, this IS what you get, the lights are situated in a road just OFF the front so if you drive at more than 5 mph, you will miss them...

Re: Christmas Lights

Such is life Busman, Lancaster City Centre have done there normal light display with tree lights etc, nothing spectacular but always pleasant when you out in town. Garstang village have also made an effort with a nice multi coloured display down the centre. As always Blackpool have the normal commercial oriented bo**ocks which this year is sponsored by the Heaven and Hell Night Club and has bu**er all to do with Christmas. Dare I ask how Accrington fared with it’s lights this year?

Re: Christmas Lights

It's always been the case that Morecambe is poor Cinderella as far as Lancaster Council is concerned. Even Carnforth has a better display in Market St.

Accy hasn't done too badly. Broadway, Blackburn Rd, Abbey St and Peel St have lights. We've just never got around to photographing them. Maybe because Messrs Britcliffe & Co went into debt for them?

Re: Christmas Lights

Accy only has so many lights because most of them have been up since last year. The council couldn't be bothered to take them down....

Re: Christmas Lights

So if they are left-overs how come they caused thousands of pounds worth of debt?

Re: Christmas Lights

We went out and photographed them tonight (see photos in the correct forum) and it surprised me how few there actually are when you look. We've had more than this in previous years so what happened to them and how come fewer lights have cost us more money???
