And lovely they are too Margaret, but aren't they supposed to be magnified in some way ? Still confused ...

Katex, different cameras seem to have different magnification for Macro.......I am going to experiment with mine a bit......only problem is I sometimes get a 'wobble on' and then the focus is out.

Re: Special Photo Competition (Macro)

I've actually found a practical use for macro, sometimes the labels on foodstuffs are just too small to read even with my best glasses on, Now a quick focus dump to p.c. and hey presto, I can read the labelling.

Look a bit of a fool taking photos of labels in Asda, downloading to laptop and viewing it in the middle of the isles  :D

Re: Special Photo Competition (Macro)

Just had a though, I think I'm excluded from this comp, not sure that my camera has Macro mode, never gets used if it has, "could" be one of the preset modes that I never use, will have to check.
If I want to shoot macro I put it in manual mode and put a macro lens on.

Re: Special Photo Competition (Macro)

its a close up mode that allows you to take pictures at 'life size'

Usually you need to get teh camera REALLY close to the subject
