Gales at Blackpool

These were taken at 12 noon today. It was pretty difficult keeping the camera still. A lot of the promenade Shops and Hotels were sandbagged and there was quite a lot of driftwood, trees etc cast up onto the promenade.

Re: Gales at Blackpool

It was actually great fun and pretty spectacular. It must have been a bit frightening at the weekend though.

Re: Gales at Blackpool

Good shots A-B.

I imagine a good walk along the front would be extremely exhilarating.

Excellent photos A-b. I'm not surprised you struggled to hold the camera steady.

Re: Gales at Blackpool

I can remember fishing of the north pier jetty in weather similar to that, and the pier 'guard' yelling and gesticulating from the comparative safety of the pier telling us to get off the jetty. We just waved back and carried on fishing. The water was shooting up through the holes in the jetty decking at about 300 mph. Ah such youthful folly!
