photo competition (macro)

I am thinking of running a photo competition
For closeup or people with digital cameras (macro) mode
here is two i took in the railway pub yesterday.
There will be a prize as usual but was just wondering if members would enter this one as its a bit unusual ?

Oh i thought that was your donation to accyweb less and was going to change your settings but never mind you can have it back sometime.

OH no i have just been told that the payment for the servers are due and Roy is 5p short so if accyweb goes down everyone can blame less.

Re: photo competition (macro)

yep fine
if enough members want to do this i will set it up.
but all photos must be taken in macro mode not just zoom close up
we have already had a competition "close up " but that included zoomed in photos this one is for macro only
its just a thought and something different if nobody wants to do this then it does not matter.

I'm up for it, TBH though I'd let people use zoom and crop as well, how you going to know without them including the exif info - even that can be falsified, and most compacts can't achieve a true 1:1 macro, it's only a gimmic on most of them to let you focus a bit nearer

I'm not sure that either of those photo's was taken in Macro mode......the focal distance on the picture of the bee(according to the exif data) is 75.2 mm....enlighten me please...does this count as Macro mode?

I know my camera does have a Macro setting.......but not sure if I used it in this shot.
When i took this picture I had only had the camera a couple of weeks and was still getting friends with it.

Re: photo competition (macro)

You usually have three icons, a flower, a face and a mountain - Macro, portrait, landscape<br />

Looks good, any chance of details and perhaps an idea of scale? (only because I'm curious).
