Angry High Oil Prices Lift BP's Profits To £6.4bn.

From a high of $147 a barrel in July prices have dropped sharply to $62 a barrel.

Petrol has come down a bit but other energy prices remain sky high with no signal from the energy companies that a major reduction, or even any reduction, is in the offing.

My letter to E·ON demanding a return to the prices before July 2008 has just gone. Where is yours to your energy company?

By how much has petrol come down? From a high of $1.35, our price at the pumps has dropped to about 90 cents; so we are really benefitting from the drop in the price of oil.

Hi.
I simply don't understand how the oil companies can keep your petrol
prices so high.We in Canada think our prices are high at approximately
50p per litre.

Maybe the Canadian Government aren’t as greedy as the UK Government, the largest percent of our fuel costs go to our Chancellor by way of Fuel duty/tax

They are greedy enough, and the provincial govts. tax the gas too. However, a lot has been returned to municipal govts. for things such as infrastructure (that's a nice buzz word for things like sewers, roads, and bridges etc.) maintainance ... so, the City of Kingston gets a fair slice of tax revenue returned directly to the community.

It appears filling stations make more money from selling sandwiches pop and crisps than they do from selling petrol.
