It's time Hyndburn Borough Council remembered that our elected Local Councillors are the community leaders and that they are the ones who should be dealing with issues such as you mentioned in your first post.

That, accyman, is a moot point.
They are not if they only represent part of the community.
I always thought that councils were keen to listen to minorities, or that was how it WAS when those minorities came from abroad.
They bent over backwards to make sure their voices were heard.

oh i do get it i really do

there should be no muslim comunity , muslim council we dont need a second tier system for specific people we have a system where as if you are a British citizen you use it regardless of faith , culture or pigmentation of your skin

creating these secondary groups of muslim communities , jewish communities , balck communities and so on only serves to create segregation and indifference

the council should be talking to everybody not just the largest group of people.The reason why we have town halls is so that they can be used as public meeting places for everyone to attend things such as announcements.When attending your race , faith etc dosnt matter you just turn up and listen to the announcement or even ask questions if the council see you worthy of asking them a question as it appears to be these days

the largest majority in an area is still been treated as a minority and the real minority is getting overlooked deliberately it seems because tehir votes dont matter any more

Accyman, special treatment of any group in society(especially if it is seen as preferential) causes resentment and creates divisions that would not exist but for the fact that some PC idealist thinks that these poor folk shoud have different treatment because of race, creed, ethnicity or(now) sexual orientation.

I think you are right Less.
I can't see our own MP taking up the cudgels on your behalf...none of the MP's would want to alienate those who benefit most from the community leaders.
Goodness, it might lose them votes...that would never do.

Any elected representative who will not act on an issue like this when it is completely undemocratic and to anyone with a grain of sense,causes division, is a COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE is my honest opinion.

I like this house but I would like to be part of a community, as each day goes by and different people grow bolder, I am cold shouldered, ignored and insulted and that's only the white people!

Couldn't repeat what others say I don't understand the local dialect.
