Cadhy it is a blessing and a curse at the same time.
There are some things that I would dearly like to forget.

Yes, they provided us with many happy hours of entertainment.
Steeljack…where is he…..and Lancsyorkee(hope I got his name right)…..jambutty, even though he was not one of my favourites…he contributed.
Entwisi,Tinks..Slinky, Gayle,…..the more I think of them the more come to mind.
I know we lost Westendlass….but where is Aussie Irene.
They all felt like part of the Accyweb family……we might not always agree with them but they were ‘ours’.

I have been wondering where Eric vanished to?
His last post was in 2017.

I even posted a couple of questions here and there.
Now I see folks here referring to Eric in the past tense.
Clearly I have an information gap.

Who has the full story? And is it for public discussion?

I do not know the whole story….just that he passed on.
This would be very sad for the animals that he supported through the hard winters they have in that neck of the woods.
I liked Eric he was a very well read man with a broad range of knowledge.

Would've liked to actually meet him, he always struck me as being someone I'd enjoy having a pint & a chat with, we were also both graduates of the "Hat".

I only found out about Eric through reading back. I mentioned him specifically as he was à top guy. Jaysay was funny....loved NCIS and Rovers!!!

As above, people pass and we walk on. It's nice that even though you have never met them. You know they're someone getting to know will be fun.

Re: Reading old threads can be fun....

Mention of saying white rabbits’ three times made me smile. I used to tell my husband we had to say ‘white rabbits’ three times as soon as we woke up on a Friday the 13th to ward off bad luck. One New Year’s Day he went outside for the newspaper and when he came back in I said that as he was the first person over the doorstep on New Year’s Day he had better bring the New Year in and so what was he going to say. I meant of course the ‘good health, wealth’ and so on. He immediately said ‘white rabbits, white rabbits, white rabbits’. When I told him what he should have said, he replied that at least he’d covered all the Friday the 13t’s for the year. I did hear him mutter something about I must have made him as crazy as I was, but I let that go..

We always said the White Rabbits on the first of the month.
I have not heard of it being for Friday the 13th.

Re: Reading old threads can be fun....

The only first of the month 'traditions' that I know of happen on April 1st (April Fool) and May 1st (May Gosling). I was always told that the April Fool one is only until noon and if anyone tries to get you fooled after that time the retort is 'April Fool's Day's past and gone, you're the fool for thinking on'. Not sure how long the gosling one goes on for (and yes, I probably am slightly crazy, but it helps).

Re: Reading old threads can be fun....

There was always ‘a pinch and a punch for the first of the month’….where someone would nip you and give you a thump on the arm….and if they did it first you could not do it back.
So does anyone remember that?
I have to say it was mainly at school.

Re: Reading old threads can be fun....

Yes I do remember that now you have mentioned it. Then we would add ‘and no returns’, meaning of course that the person we had pinched or punched was not allowed to do it back to us.
