He is too rich and privileged to regret anything Cashy.
If things don’t work out for him he is in a position to move anywhere in the world he wants.
Being PM is just a fad…a hobby, a game….something that if he gets fed up of….well, he isn’t in it for the salary is he?

I agree with Sunak.

I've a mate in Blackpool who lives near the Cuadrilla site, he told me that he felt a couple of quakes back in the day when they were exploring. I did a bit of research back then and although the quakes were negligible from the exploratory drill, my main concern was the risk of toxicity to the water table if it was allowed to continue.

We have access to tidal, solar, and wind power....this along with battery storage is where the research should be focused. Meanwhile we can build a couple of nuclear power plants to tide us over..(we turned London into an Olympic village in 7 years between winning the bid and hosting the opening ceremony....anyone care to explain why we cant build a couple of Nuclear plants to power the country in the same time frame)

Twenty or so years ago I visited Dinorwig in Wales, given the advances in battery storage, if we'd had the foresight to build more of these hydroelectric plants we'd be quids in now....

...then again you could use a high pressure hosepipe to move underground rocks to get at pockets of gas, notwithstanding that these rocks may be the supporting walls of Ullswater or Windermere.

Re: SUNAK bans fracking

The tidal energy would be safe, plentiful and sure….it would not be a blot on the landscape like those vast wind turbines that have a short life span and no way of disposing or recycling them.
I have bern going over to Blackpool a lot recently…I have seen new housing developments taking shape.
How many of them are built with photovoltaic panels(these can convert any light into energy)?
None!! Not a single one. Why would be the question….and I can only think the answer is that it may add to the cost of the build….but this would be recouped by the energy savings of generating your own power…with perhaps some to spare.

Why isn’t the government promoting these panels for existing houses?

There has been a hoo-ha about insulating houses….and yes insulation is important, but when you insulate a house so that it is warmer than the outside environment you get condensation, damp and mould.
My daughter had never had any real issues with damp and mould until she had cavity wall insulation.
She thought she was doing the right thing by upgrading her insulation, but it has created more problems for her.
Insulation is important , but so is ventilation in a climate like ours.

I have never been in favour of Fracking because of the risks to the water table.
Energy has to be safe….and I think that Fracking is dangerous for the environment.

Coal pits were dangerous all round Cashy.
Back then we did not have the technology or the know how to use anything else…it was coal, or wood or coal gas….electricity for lighting the wireless but nothing much heavy.
Most folk had gas cookers…..gas boilers(I mean those big things with a copper lid and were used to boil clothes or heat water for the tin bath on a Friday).

Oh my goodness…I remember well those names.Patrick Varley and Roy Wallis were the ‘bad boys’ of my class…I know that Patrick died some time ago, but have never seen or heard anything of Roy.
