Angry Re: BEWARE the town hall drivers....

The speed limit for this stretch of road is 5mph and is adhered to by buses, council vehicles and the emergency services who all have right of access. Even most taxi drivers and delivery vans slow down going past the town hall.
This cretin did`nt even slow down for the mini roundabout....Whoosh straight across it. I`m pretty nimble on my feet and know to look both ways and anticipate the prats who use this short cut...you may not be so lucky. Any more of these herberts and I`ll continue to name and shame, sod my karma!!

Re: BEWARE the town hall drivers....

So the fact that this car drove illegally along a stretch of road where he should not have been is totally irrelevant to you two? Yes one man saw the car and noted details but perhaps an elderly person or someone whose eyesight is not so good wouldn't have been so lucky.

Regardless of that, the driver broke the law.

Re: BEWARE the town hall drivers....

I've had two Karma points deducted for my posts in this thread with the accompanying message "cars were there first" - whoever did this I would like to point out to you that cars may well have been there first but the fact is that right now it is ILLEGAL (do you understand the meaning of the word illegal?) for cars to drive along that stretch of road.

Cars were once permitted on Broadway. It is now pedestrianised. By your "logic" it would be permissable for cars to drive through there at 30mph because "cars were there first".

In actual fact cars were not there first because I believe horse drawn vehicles and pedestrians predate the automobile.

Re: BEWARE the town hall drivers....

Why not ring up the cop shop and speak to a traffic plod. Give them the registration and ask them to at the very least have words with the young man. Specifically mention the careless/Dangerous driving aspect of it not just the use of the stretch of road. If we all did this then plod would have to start prosecuting. They could also use the cameras to get registrations and send a fixed penalty notice out for using it.

Personally I would liek to see the whole area opened up to traffic again. Perhaps we should suggest to Counc. Britcliffe that Accy could do the same as that bit of road outside the British Museum that is having all markings/furniture/lights etc removed. If hes quick he may even get there first and claim it as Accy leading the way.
