Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s
I had a cousin from Clayton who was singer in the Dappers, his name was Billy Drinkwater, he was a joiner, and worked at Lancashire bar fitters, he worked with a bloke called Geoff Whiteside.

Good old Billy Bean, Billy and Sam Scott, put the first bar in Ossy Con around 1964, I as on the committee at the time and can remember talking to them at the time, and it wasn't long after that I got a job there too. Think Billy's brother played Cricket for Enfield

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s
Beechy - I remember now you mentioned the name George - he did play drums for a short time while I was not playing. I remember he had a Premier (?) kit - much better than mine and I had an occasional go on it while it was left in John Cunliffe's front room at 45 Willows Lane. I'm very sorry about Haircut Geoff. He was a good guy. Such a shame some people took against him - we had to have a police escort out of Bacup after playing at the Irish WMC there when someone decided they disliked him enuf to attack.

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s
Talking about the groups Mr C, any chance of getting Roy Tayor or Mick Sturzaker to give us a bit of history of thier time in the groups they were in, In that great decade. It would be historically significant for the history of Accrington for generations to come and not just to focus on Jon Anderson & the Warriors.
