Re: geocaching - anyone do this?

I've done Geocaching quite a few times now. Mostly with the Cub Scouts. It is really good, its a bit like orienteering / treasure hunt / hike rolled into one. Some of the Caches can be difficult to find, they could by little magnetic boxes underneath benches that have a log in them for you to sign. Others can be small tupperware tubs hidden under railway sleepers, rocks etc. People tend to leave little tokens in these, we leave our group name tapes in them. You can then log into the Geocache website to record which ones you have done. You can also set off a Travel bug, which people move from Cache to Cache and log on the website which one they have left it in, you can then see how far and where it has travelled to.

But yes - good fun!! give it a go

Im thinking of the best way to go about it, may lay our own route so there is more so each member of our new group 'St Augustines Scout group' get the chance to find a few in a day, as well as keeping the offical geocaches in the route.
