I am looking for Jack Wilson,he lived in woodnook years ago.He served his apprentice
at Howard & Bullough in the 40s.He has two brothers the elder one is called Jim.I
think he now lives in Barrow...

The petrol station you mentioned was owned by Eddie Whitaker who lived in one of
the big houses on the bridge across from the bridge pub.

The Barth was called Birtwistle,and the Holden was Jimmy.
Barth Bertwistle lived on York St, Jimmy Holden's parents had a grocers...

I simply don't understand how the oil companies can keep your petrol
prices so high.We in Canada think our prices are high at approximately
50p per litre.

Try the Canadian weather,at the moment in our town (Sarnia) the temperature
at noon is -8c.tonight the forecast is -15c.Cold but very dry.

Hi,Atarah.The picture of the old police station is brilliant.You will notice the
old Co op to the far right.The two houses attached to the police station
were used by the inspectors.

There was also a Co Op on York St, at the corner of France St, i worked after school
in the butchers shop on Market St, helping to clean and take out orders.I got
2 shillings a week plus tips...

I think the purchase of the vicarage would be early 60s.The shops along the side
of the police station were owned by the Co Op,before Libbertons.

ajoining the station.As for the clock,it was payed for by Mr.Wilson who was chairman
