Gordon Avenue is a cul-de-sac off Fife Street and is open to traffic .

Walker Avenue is a cul-de-sac off Richmond Road , and is also open to traffic .

That surprises me .

I never thought there was a street there before they built the sheltered-accommodation bungalows . As far as I know there were no houses there before the bungalows .

In 1900 the Accrington Co-operative Society had 14 houses built in Primrose Street .

As you will no doubt know there was a New Jerusalem church on Fairfield St. just past the top of Edleston St. , and is now a Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses .

Yes I recall the documentary . Even that it was on on a Friday night .

The mill owners were too wedded to the Lanacashire Loom that modernisation passed them by .

Yes , and there's Whalley Range in Manchester , pronounced as we pronounce Whalley , and it never gets Wally Range .
