Re: Barnet Match Thread

A point would have been ok had either Wycombe or Mansfield not won...but no disaster . Exeter and Lincoln fading from the promotion battle. Looking like four teams for two places. Or should I say the...

Re: Barnet Match Thread

Exeter play Mansfield, notts Co have a tricky match, Luton not playing.

Can’t see us not winning this one.

Get the beer in the fridge ready for the now traditional 5pm winners hour. That league...

Re: Crewe Alex Thread

Oh dear, I gather that it is a hanging offence to suggest Billy is anything but superhuman in everything he does.

Sorry all, but I’ve seen far better forwards than Billy over the years (sniffer...

Re: Crewe Alex Thread

I’d be surprised if you can tell a footballer like Kee looks jaded, and surprised if his style of football would make him tired.

Brown, Nolan... they are the ones doing all the graft. Jackson,...

Re: Crewe Alex Thread

The bloody Beast yet a bloody gain! aaarrggghhh.

Thought Crewe were very good tonight. Passed and moved really well. We were very ordinary BUT still fairly solid.

Brown was my MOTM.

We...

Re: The final run in.

You can get odds of 10/13 at the moment on Stanley being promoted. That’s pretty generous I’d say.

Re: The final run in.

I’d say we are 90% sure to go up. Only Wycombe are improving like we are. Notts Co, Swindon, Cov, Exeter are not good or consistent enough. Only Mansfield is a threat.

It’s going to finish thus:...

Re: Sean Mc

If he “failed a fitness test” you’d think he was close to being free of injury,

I have my doubts about the Stanley physio after seeing him stretching our loanee keeper’s pulled hamstring at...

Re: Bit of good news.

On a related topic...

Now you older ones will know all about this, but I was amazed to watch a documentary last night about Third Lanark on iPlayer. I confess I had never even heard of them and...

Re: Good idea

Macca - if only social media was a reflection of life.

Fingers crossed though. It did come across REALLY well.

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

The green and white Swindon kit was terrible to spot against the green and white pitch. Of that I agree.

Ossykid - for you old boys crime was lower but crime is no worse now than 40 years ago when I grew up.
To hear some people you’d think it’s a jungle out there.

Choirboy - not exactly sure what...

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

After that foul on seany, I commented it was a yellow card and a half. Could have gone either way.

Why do you think standards have gone down? I used to watch loads of live footy in the 80s-90s,...

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

If I went to the Swindon fans forum I’d be guaranteed find people wittering about how the ref was too harsh, on here he wasn’t harsh enough.
It’s the same with every game. Fans shout and get angry...

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

Utter tripe? Not punishing them? He Awarded us 17 fouls, showed them 4 yellow cards and one red!

We commented at half time what a fair and clean contest it was up to that point. You’ve got to bear...

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

You’ve got to be joking about the ref, right?
Apart from their rather soft penalty and not their playing being unlucky to be sent off he was spot on with everything else.

Re: Swindon Town Match Thread

Scratching my head who to award the Official Lord Didsbury MOTM award to.
The Don, Seany, Billy....? Think I might award it to Nolan tonight.

Well done Liam, your prize is in the post.

Re: Stevenage Match Thread

Watched the highlights.
Hughes to blame for the first? Their player completely unmarked.
Second was clearly Nolan giving it away.
Then their effort that hit the post looked like Hughes getting...

Re: Stevenage Match Thread

Lord Stiff - have a look at Football Genius John Coleman’s post match interview. Seems he agrees with my assessment.

Therefore, I am also a football genius and you need to bring your ear trumpet...

Re: Stevenage Match Thread

Also, can anyone tell me why McCleod was preferred to Sousa? He seemed a different class. He could even stay on his feet without falling over his own laces.

Re: Stevenage Match Thread

Actually Lord Stiff, I didn’t think the first half was that bad. Loads of balls flashing across their six yard box. Jackson giving them all sorts of problems.
I did think either centre midfield or...

Re: Stevenage Match Thread

A few quick thoughts.....
1. Callum Johnson is showing signs of being a good footballer. I have misjudged the lad.
2. Jackson had a great game
3. Jimmy Dunne looked good
4. Sousa looked good...

Re: Harvey Rodgers

Didn’t Rodgers play the right hand side of a back three rather than full back? Might have been after the Don had his op.
That might work again.
Much as I like Hughes and he generally does a good...
