Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

Cashy, of course honest opinion is always welcome .
But I fail to see how some of the above 'opinions' could be deemed to be anything other than personal abuse.

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

Come on chaps! We're all on the same side here.
Let's not allow a thread on the pro's & cons of substitutes to descend into a personal slanging match.

Re: Window

As even strikers from the English National League appear beyond our means, perhaps we should be looking at the Irish & Scottish teams?
Here's 2 for consideration:
Joe Gormley (Cliftonville)
16...

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

Milord, I appreciate your golfing metaphor.
However, how boring it would be if, when watching the Masters at Augusta, all the pro's played safe & scored par at every hole - YAWN!
What spectators...

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

To anyone who doubts the the whole value of substitutes, here's a little reminder of what happened when we met Shrewsbury at the Wham earlier this season;
When Sam Ricketts (football genius?) made 2...

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

Lord D, who's to say it made no difference?
As Stanley had more possession & more shots on target, it may have ensured Burton didn't lose the game.
Likewise, substituting Diallo & Charles (our...

Blimey, so it would seem Yonmon.
Has the Professor been studying our post's for inspiration???
Diallo gets a start & has more shots on goal than anybody else.
Then hello, hello! Along come not 1...

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

As we've lost more games than we've won, we all remember the former & not the latter.
All I know is that I see the top visiting teams make tactical substitutions in nearly every game.
Some of them...

Re: Substitutions and the Football Genius

We've been on the back foot from the start of the season with the continued absence of our talisman Billy Kee.
Since which we appear to have lost almost half the squad with a catalogue of either...

I can assure you all that DAV's last post is pure fantasy

Re: Salford

Fully agree with your first sentiment StanleyJosh.
However, I think the initial euphoria of reaching the heights of L1 is already starting to wane, reflected by the slowly falling attendances.
I...

Re: Southend Utd match thread.

There was a grim inevitability that Southend, rock bottom of the League 2 form table, would somehow turn the tables on Stanley.
After last week's nightmare at Ipswich, we all assumed Coley's reading...

My friend, I think it's you who needs to 'wake up & smell the coffee'
Your response has only confirmed my earlier post, that today's result only highlights the lack of quality in our current squad....

Amazed you have taken such offence at my previous post.
I was simply trying to emphasise that we've been punching above our weight since we won promotion.
Clarify how, in your unrivalled opinion,...

Re: The Crewe match thread, or the 'Annoy Accy Mad' thread.

This tedious & incessant criticism - from all quarters, of virtually every player in the squad only diverts responsibility from where it truly lies -
THE MANAGER!
He picks the team, decides the...

Re: The Crewe match thread, or the 'Annoy Accy Mad' thread.

Had a feeling as soon as the cup draw was made that Crewe would prove to be, yet again, our bogey team.
However, the stats from the game paint a depressing picture of an out-of-form team struggling...
