I agree Neil Its designed to be more of a deterent than anything else and upto now it seems to be working, Its been a while since Ive seen a trolley or two up by the maccyds.
If it only deters a few surely its got to be worth it?
Someone somewhere must be able to come up with something more practical.
Perhaps we could start a thread for new ways to stop trolley pinchers

They have one of them wheel locking things at Tesco at Hassy at the top of the hill!!! Who'd push a trolley up to the top of the hill though!!!

Did accy asda get those little kiddy trolleys? Colne asda had them, they were great,you could give the little one a shopping list,kept them busy....... i think they lasted a month before they were all stolen

Yes they did, and ever so twee they were, I don't think they were stolen, ASDA just realised that the sweet little ones had the habit of copying their darling mothers, ignoring everyone else and barging through!

Rather than being sued ASDA withdrew the trolleys to keep the aisles a little safer for folk that didn't want to dodge the little ssss..Sweethearts.
