A Snap of a Snapper

A Snap of a Snapper

This snapping turtle was trying to cross the road. Many are killed each year here in Canada as they travel in search of a place to lay their eggs. They really can do you some harm if they bite you. When picked up by the backs of their shells, their necks can extend outward putting human body parts in harm's way. I like them because they're primitive looking beasts. I like turtles in general because they have a thick, protective shell, and move at their own speed!
