This is Avenue Parade as I first remember it, with the wonderful iron railings which I saw being removed for scrap when I was just a little lad. They were cut off with an oxyacetylene blow torch. Sometimes, the lead holding the rialings melted completely and then the ironwork could be lifted straight out. More commonly, the supports were just cut through, which left some very nasty spikes on which you could cut yourself quite badly.
Memories, memories!!
