Is this not the "Top 'o Pleck" the Motoabilty Shop would the 1st building and the shops are still there but there, used to be a Gents Barbers on that end and then houses which got pulled down and the Vet building took the area as a car park. A bit more up on the on the left and just after that there would be Castle Street, and the Castle Pub, which lead to Bull Bridge and Hyndburn Rd.

On the corner of Whalley Road on the town centre side of Castle St. can anyone remember an off licence or wine merchants? If so has anyone a photo of it or can remember the name of it
