It was May bank holiday weekend 1991. We had driven up for the weekend from London. It had been a beautifully hot spring day, and by the time I took the picture the sky was going yellow, and the humidity increased before a storm hit later that night.
It was a perfect weekend, and a lovely picnic. This was the most successful photograph because they didn't know that I'd took it. Both Sarah and Susannah hated it, but I like it.
