To be a honest C'mon I didn't realise just how bad it was until I saw it for myself, the Rangers Celtic issue, puts United Liverpool totally in the shade, they're like pussy cats in comparison. the thing that really opened my eyes was when I worked at Celtic S.C. We were refitting the concert room upstairs full refit bar ceiling wall panels the lot. I was fitting the bar shutters, in those days the law only allowed a opening of 4 feet then there had to be a 12" solid pillar, which we made as a horra glass screen. There was a panel around 9" square in Blue, a committee man came over and said you'll have to change that, why I asked, it will last two minutes on opening night before somebody puts their fist through it, so we sent down to William St for another in Green. Right at at end of the job the last day the carpet fitters arrived brought in the carpet, Royal Blue, I called the same committee man over and asked him what was going on, he just said, you walk on that
ya couldn't make it up. Three weeks later I was on a snagging trip around Scotland and we called at the club to replace a handle on a bar drawer, when I went in I've never seen anything like it, I just said to my mate how old do you think that carpet is, two years he said, no three weeks, I've never seen so many cigarette burns in a carpet before or since, I was looking for the sign when the floor is full of fag butts please use the ashtrays
