WIGAN have thrashed out a deal with the police which means their last five home games will not be behind closed doors.
Greater Manchester Police threatened to withdraw from the JJB Stadium for the rest of the season after the club refused to pay £300,000 it owes for services this term.
But Latics chairman Dave Whelan agreed to pay for the last five games and the police deferred payment on the £300,000 still owed.
Whelan wants a nationwide flat fee for policing at games. He said: “Both sides were willing to give a little.”
