Superb performance and brilliant result from Stanley tonight.
Every outfield player had a great game and some of the attacking play was a delight to watch.
But, despite the score line, Stanley’s defensive abilities were just as crucial to the outcome. Newport were not a poor team but Stanley harried them and closed down any opportunities and nullified them having any shots on target.
Pity there were not ten man of the match awards to be made, but special mention (imho) must go to Batty who was inspirational.
A night of unalloyed joy for the Stanley faithful, the team, and management.
