Queen's ambitions.
In this week's Observer there is a full page of photographs of young women who'd like to be Accrington Carnival Queen.
I'm not deriding these girls for doing it as it's a bit of fun, and not a full on bathing suit number job, but l was quite shocked at their career ambitions, which is as follows-
1 x glamour model,
1 x doing up her home,
1 x semi-professional snowboarder,
1 x going into the hotel business,
2 x want to own their own hair/nail salons,
1 x wants to own their own gym,
1 x 17 year old Mum who wants to go to college to study public services,
1 x wants to be a model/ dancer,
1 x wants to study public services at college then university then the army.
I supose we should admire their entrepreneuial ambitions. I know this isn't a cross section of young women in Hyndburn but it's a bit sad, no engineers, teachers, nurses, or even any future politicans.
