Or spray paint the gloss........
always been told that 3 coats of undercoat to 1 of gloss is best for the very shinny finish to the top coat......
but that is using the old type of gloss (really runny when painting with it) not the non-drip type.....
or if you have stripped back to bare wood then
primmer, sandpaper down, wipe with thinners,
undercoat, sandpaper down, sugar soap,
undercoat, sandpaper down, sugar soap
undercoat, sandpaper down, sugar soap


then LIQUID gloss to finish.
