I hadn't really heard of Stan Lynn until his death was reported on local radio in the Midlands nearly 5 years ago. BBC Radio WM has a football phone-in every weekday and there's not a month goes by without someone phoning in with an affectionate mention. Remarkably for a full-back, he was Birmingham City's top scorer in 1964/65. There's a cartoon of him here:
