Firstly the game is recorded, but the rights are held by both the governing body and the different media partners.

Yes John coleman gets a copy, but that is contractual anyway, its an agreement so to speak,

We cannot just burn and run a DVD off and sell it, Basically I wont pass off unboxed DVD's as merchandise and charge a £5 for it.

The club wants to move on and look at different media avenues. Mobile technology, Internet based media, Not (and no offence) selling DVD's in a plastic wallet for a £5 a pop.

I would rather pay £5 and have a live game streamed through my PC or mobile which I could hook up to to a Plasma TV in my front room, for a full season than buy a DVD. You wouldn't even need to come down and buy it, You could click your mouse and recieve it there and then. (potentially)

Now surely this is the best way forward
But as you have virtually admitted, the rights to live games are held by Sky via an agreement with the Football League and that has been extended to include the rights to broadcast live games via the internet, so you cannot legally view a live Stanley game through your PC. I'm sure that the same agreement would not allow DVD copies to be made of the full game.

However, the agreement with the Football League allows for live audio coverage via the radio or the internet and for highlights to be shown by the member clubs after a specified interval between the live game and the highlights being shown.

Most Football League clubs currently offer live match commentary (from £19.99 per year) and highlights (from £34.99, including live match commentaries) via their premiumtv sites. An example: Stockport County | World | Buy World | loginOrBuy

Are there any plans to offer the same to Stanley fans? While I dislike the premiumtv sites, it would be very nice to be able to access live match commentaries for every away game and not have to rely on updates every 15 minutes or so on 2br or Radio Lancashire.
