Re: How Long can Paul Mullin Continue?
there was an interview in one of the local papers a couple of weeks (tried to find the link honest) where Paul mentioned that he thinks he has two or three years left in him at this level. He goes on to say that he may go into coaching and has considered doing his badges but won't start until after he finishes. He also says that he wouldn't be the same kind of manager as Coley cos 'I am not a shouter and bawler' or words to that effect.
My personal opinion is that when he does retire he should be guaranteed a testimonial and I hope that people respect what he has done for the club and turn out in their thousands. I always remember Jamie Speare's (why did he have one after four? years) when there was only about 400 people there and it seemed a real shame.
I also think that we should honour his acheivements by retiring the number 10 shirt for one season. To manage ten years at one club in this day and age is remarkable especially when you consider that he has consistently performed at the top of his game, has scored bucket loads of goals and has played practically every game in the time he has been here.
Long live the king.
