You can discard the favourites in your web browser and store all your precious links within webpages on your local disk.
Now your precious links are mobile.
Copy the pages to CDRom or USB and take them with you.
Or upload the pages to some webspace and you don't even need a CDRom or USB pen.
As you can see my precious links are stored on my E: drive on my laptop and I have collected many thousands over the years.
