Thanks Entwisi, it seems fine at the moment and I wouldn't know how to "system restore" if my life depended on it! I may well leave it alone and keep my fingers crossed till I can nab someone who can do it for me !
BTW you are right about the update, it took ages and I had forgotten about that !
