Have just read the obituary in the Observer of this ex-Stanley player.

He married a friend of mine and, even after her demise, never failed to send each other Christmas Cards.

He lived in the house in Burnley Road my parent's bought in the 1920's as a newly married couple.

We always had a chat in town ... just wanted to say how sad I feel.
