Dave, My daughter has just done a degree in Homeopathic Medicine and the resistance to anything other than conventional medicine is great.......possibly driven by the need for Phamaceutical companies to protect their vast profits.
Pharmaceutical companies derive billions of pounds from the sale of their products, spend large sums of money coseying up to GP's, providing them with 'Seminars(at suitably opulent venues) Courses (in exotic and usually sunny places) all from the profits of their drugs.

With conventional medicine you are given something to treat your original ailment, but the side effects usually require another drug to be prescribed, and so on. All makes for a very healthy Pharma industry, but not so healthy patients.

OK, maybe not all the drugs are like that....and Yes some drugs are life saving.(Insulin, Digoxin etc) ....I know this from my 30 years in the health service, but I also know that there is room for more than one kind of treatment....and that these should be in every GP's arsenal of weapons to fight disease.....but I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.
