There has long been a trade in heraldic china items. The most famous maker was Goss. There is a Goss Collectors Club, and some items bring top money. The common pieces are those bearing the namnes of seaside resorts and tourism hot-spots. Accringtonj doesn't fall into either of these categories, but there would have been people willing to buy them when they came out -though I would not have thought that was a high number in the 1940s.
