A little house with two bedrooms
No bathroom and no car
Didn't need a mower
No grass to push it ower

In the kitchen on the wall
We only had one bath
Filled with a kettle from the hob
It had to bath us all

We knew someone who had a phone
They wouldn't talk to us
If dad wanted to use one
He had to get on't bus

We only had a front room
Which mum would keep all posh
You had to live in't kitchen
As well as eat your nosh

I had a crystal radio
It never worked too well
I used ex army earphones
They hurt my ears like hell

Remember going to the shop
And shopping carefully
And when you came to pay for it
'Tha's getting nowt on tic'

We didn't get those weekend trips
Whatever was the weather
We always stayed home saving brass
We liked to be together

Remember when the doctor
Used to cost you money
Grandma was your doctor
With luck she'd give you honey

It's good times change and so do we
It wasn't all good then
Tin baths weren't fun especially when
