Accy Mayor

Just read a thread on the Woking MB where the Mayor of Woking has posted.... His post makes interesting reading.... Would be nice if we had a mayor and spouse with as much interest in ASFC eh

Fair do's to Greg Pope though, he came near the beginning of the season. As for Britcliffe....that smug b*****d just uses the club when it suits him. What price on him suddenly becoming a Great Harwood fan when they begin to climb the leagues?

Greg Pope? we had just been promoted.. Did you read the post by the Woking Mayor.. he has been a season ticket holder for X years.. he has been watching them Y years.. his wife orgainsed the coach travel for the fans to the trophy final blah blah blah.......

Coming to a game when we have been promoted and no other... really doesn't compare does it

Re: Accy Mayor

To be fair, Greg has come at all levels of league, but more as a sense of duty, part of the job, I think. (After all what does a Blackburn fan know about football)

Britcliffe, on the other hand, is a total opportunist.

Don't vote, it only encourages them.

What a load of Waffling. There are about 46,000 other people in Hyndburn that don't ever come and support Stanley. Are you going to start picking on them as well. Just because you do something don't expect everyone else to do the same.

I think people are talking about politicians who have been to Stanley games, and their reasons for doing so.

But if you want to supply 46,000 names we can widen it, although I don't see the point, they'll probably not see it as a photo-opportunity or anything.

Re: Accy Mayor

Also to be fair Britcliffe as much as I loath him, is a Rovers fan, but did attend a few matches and wrote favourably about Stanley in his Observer column. Also he organised the bun fight at the Town Hall after we won promotion. If he hadn't helped the borough mark the occasion we would have been calling for his blood.

As for our Mayor Janet Storey I have no idea if she supports any football team, though it was reported she was at the said shin dig at the Town Hall. Since she's only the Mayor of Hyndburn for a year perhaps we'll have a more ardent fan in office soon. Perhaps Kipax will don the robes of office?
