Mr James Simpson had the railway company fancy up the bridge, it was built with alcoves and terracotta balustrades to be more pleasing to the eye when he had to travel underneath on his way home.

#4 and 5 could be paintings. What an interesting story the abandoned roses suggest - if only they could talk, eh?
Just grabbed my snap camera and shot these through the window. Not very good quality, but you can see the birds, I think. Incidentally there's snow on top of the ice now.

2. These are red polls (I looked them up).
3. a Bluejay - beautiful but raucous-sounding birds.

Today in Pictures, wet and windy, I had to tie my flat cap on.
1. Start point, St Mary's Burial Ground.
2. Heading through a soggy field.
3. The clouds are whizzing past.
4. Pendle Hill in the distance.
5. At the end of the wall is the Millennium Baby Wood.

7. Back across the same soggy field again, I do like slutchy strides.
8. The clouds suggest snow, but it just keeps away for now.
9. Back into the Burial Ground.
10. Have you met our Ivy.
