Post Re: iraq

whether we where right to go in with the yanks is  debatable, and I can see the argument from both sides -but we always support the yanks.

dont know why we do because at the end of the day they only lookout for themselves as the Northern Ireland situation proved.

Take it you mean the UN inspector?

The fact that we went in had nothing to do with the UN.

The UN is what it says, a multi nation organisation, not just British.

The UN would have been there giving aid to these people regardless.

Rather think it is the terrorists who did this to people who are trying to help their own kind that are mad! >

Post Re: iraq

Supposedly we do ahve our say by voting them in at the election and we can have our say by voting them right back out at the next..

Unfortunatly that plan doesnt work..

Greg Pope was voted in.. then he went on record as saying he knows he is going against what his constituants wants and he knows its not what the public of hyndburn want...but he is going to vote for war anyway because it is his belief.... duh?  doesnt that make a mockery of voting for someone you believe will look after your interests.. The mans a complete bafoon

Sing along to the tune of  If you're happy and you know it!!!

If you cannot find Osama, bomb Iraq.
If the markets are a drama, bomb Iraq.
If the terrorists are frisky,
Pakistan is looking shifty,
North Korea is too risky, bomb Iraq.

If we have no allies with us, bomb Iraq.
If we think someone has dissed us, bomb Iraq.
So to hell with the inspections,
Lets look tough for the elections,
Close your mind and take directions, bomb Iraq.

It's pre-emptive non aggression, bomb Iraq.
Lets prevent this mass destruction, bomb Iraq.
They've got weapons we can't see,
And that's good enough for me,
Cos that's all the proof we need, bomb Iraq.

If you never were elected, bomb Iraq.
If your mood is quite dejected, bomb Iraq.
If you think Saddam's gone mad,
With the weapons that he had,
(And he tried to kill your dad) bomb Iraq.

If your corporate fraud is growing, bomb Iraq.
If your ties to it are showing, bomb Iraq.
If your politics are sleazy,
And hiding that aint easy,
And your manhoods getting queasy, bomb Iraq.

Fall in line and follow orders, bomb Iraq.
For our might knows not our borders, bomb Iraq.
Disagree? we call it treason,
Lets make war, not love this season,
Even if we have no reason, bomb Iraq.

Worryingly true I'd say.. [smiley=flamethrower.gif]

It looks like Blair and Bush lied to their citizens to justify the war which show contempt and disrespect. Misrepresenation and  exaggeration are normal and accepted in the USA. It's normally called hype or b***t .

Because of this, Bush stands a good chance of getting re-elected. It will be interesting to see if Blair gets re-elected which will demonstrate that it's acceptable in the UK  too.

Post Re: iraq

Cheers Tommey, my daft mate sent me that just prior to the war. My cousin went to Iraq, thankfully home now and intact, which we are all grateful for. It's such a shame that so many people lost loved ones unnecessarily, on both sides :'(

Post Re: iraq

When all said and done lads one cannotz take away the fact that Saddam was a threat to peace.Mistake taht tehy all made was that they should have got him in the first place. However the threat was not as big as Blair + Bush made out to be.The biggest loser in this war happens to be Russia. They supplied Saddam with the weapons and were supposed to be repaid in Oil.No saddam now so no oil.Means no repayment

Post Re: iraq

Thought:-

As it seems there is a strong feeling against the Allied forces in Iraq.
I mean coming from the Iraqies themselves.
However i do not see any of the Iraqi population turning their noses up at the food parcels and food aid sent to them from America and Britain
