Re: accyweb page loading probs
I can't see any problems from this end. It could be your DNS settings, they will probably resolve themselves by morning. However you can opt to change your settings from your internet providers to an alternative.
OpenDNS is what I use, it's free and I find it to be faster than my internet providers. It also informs you if you visit dodgy phishing sites. Have a look at OpenDNS > Home Network > Solutions

I dont know about the DNS cashy . am a bit to wary about trying anything like that without chairside assistance, but thanks anyway andrew.

No it doesn't. Each website has an IP for example google.com is 72.14.205.100. What happens is when you type a web address, the DNS (domain name server) looks up what the IP of google.com is, so that your computer can find it.
Your own providers DNS are often quite slow (mine is), and sometimes have problems where you can't access certain sites although they're not actually down. Therefore I choose to use OpenDNS as I find it performs better. It should have no affect on applications etc.
I hope this is clear as mud.

Let me know if the problems happen again, it could well be Accringtonweb.

Re: accyweb page loading probs
I too had a few slow loading pages earlier, some had to be refreshed as they had not loaded.
Although I think that you must have put another 50p in the meter as it seems OK now

Re: accyweb page loading probs
Haha Neil, don't start!
By the number of people it probably isn't a DNS issue, if anyone experiences this again could you remember what time it happened and post here please? As exact a time as possible would be most helpful.

About 15 minutes before 23.36 if you look at the first post in this thread.

Re: accyweb page loading probs
I had a lurk around 11 p.m. and was very painful then Andrew. Like Margaret gave up.
Seems to be about the same time as this thread reported by K.S.H., although, of course, no idea whether anything to do with it..
