Oswaldtwistle on line

Anyone from ossy visited this forum, seems a shame that no one seems to post on there, still everyone is posting on Accy Web

I have visited it on a few occasions but dont post there, its a good site for old photo's.
The guy who runs it is actually a member on accyweb, think he's called Ossygobbin or something like that

You could be right, it's a shame, like you said lots of good old photo's on there.

I've been on there before but then I found this site and there's not a lot of point posting on two sites. Great photos though.

I did the same, also tried hyndburn lack of life, before joining accy web, the guy must have put a lot of work in to ossy on line, but I think he is only bothered about his photos. He is a very interesting chap, used to work in rhyddings park as a gardener, dare I say in the "old days" Met him up there and walked round the park with him, if anyone knows what it used to be like...........he is the man.

That's not Ossygobbins site though.

I joined, but it's not that good, mainly because the ten year old Garindas isn't on it, unlike Life and times of Oswaldtwistle, Mike's site.

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: sql_db in D:\Webs\oswaldtwistle.co.uk\wwwroot\nuke\db\db.php on line 86

I post on several Gayle :D sometimes I even meet the same people but the conversations go in different directions due to the different mix with other members.

That website is really going to be an embarrassment if they go ahead and change the name of the borough isn't it? :D Did you actually manage to register and log on? If you did you were one of the lucky ones.

What a shame you did not have all the pictures safely stored somewhere else.
I hope you are now saving them safely

Had a good look at your new site last weekend.

Looks good, and still very interesting.

Shame a few of your old photographs were lost.

Keep up the great work.

Re: Oswaldtwistle on line

mmm... Gobbinland now has its own site but it's not about the Bottom End or West End or Stanhill, it's just about Gobbinland and Gobbins. Ossy Gobbin, I visited your old site many times in the past but thought that it had become extinct. I hope your new site does well. Hopefully we can co-exist peacefully! Gobbinland.com has a slightly different focus I think. The aim is to photograph all Gobbinland and then people can add comments about every house or shop or whatever, therefore building up a history of the place. Also anyone can login and post their own photos, so they won't need me to do it for them. Hopefully a younger Gobbiner will continue it when I'm totally past it (not far off ;))

People can also post tales about Gobbinland and Gobbins. A gobbin was a cob of coal, but also means the spirits of children and miners who starved to death when times were hard. These Gobbins come and protect us while we sleep, slipping nice thoughts into our dreams so we wake up feeling good. Anyone who can remember their dreams of the Gobbins or has tales about Gobbinland can post them at Gobbinland.com. Advert over :)

No problem, a lot of hard work must have gone in to designing and publishing the site. :alright:
