you think ossy is a dump (which I don`t) just start from church commercial pub right through to just before accringtons pride nearly a mile of run down houses its heart breaking to see, and all visitors must be thinking oh my god what a dump. We have had to put up with it for years,I remember blackburn road in the early seventies nearly every one then took pride in their property,now its a different story! :(

we have lived in ossy for a total of 20 years and would not like to live anywhere else, lived for 10 years at the top end of ossy and for the last 10 at the lower end near to rhyddings park.we,re just a short distance from the countryside and just a 2 to 3 miles from accy or blackburn so it is ideal for us. to me ossy is not a dump but a nice place to live with nice people who live here . marg.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a dump. There are a lot of things wrong with Ossy but equally there are a lot of good things too!

One thing Ossy does have, and that's the best neighbours in the world. (Yes, I know Carinda is one of my neighbours, but even so .....)

I agree. Several years ago, when we first moved here our new neighbours offerred to cook us a meal. We did not accept their invitation, because we just wanted to drop, but the invitation was very welcoming and we have never forgotten it.
