Bins

Can anyone confirm that the bins will be emptied on Saturday as I have a small bin bag mountain growing in my back garden.

Best thing to do is phone up the refuse department. They'll be able to tell you

Re: Bins

You can Phone them on 01254 399988
they should have emptied our bin on friday but for some reason missed the hole street so the back looks like a rubbish tip,
I Phoned them on monday and the woman said to put it out and she would send someone round to clear the missed street its still there .
so i phoned them again today and you get am automated message .

no they wont they are on strike its an automated message

Re: Bins

:D But when they stop being on strike tomorrow they should have an answer. I'm not even getting an automated message. It's engaged. Surprise, surprise!

I'm now wondering if all the bins are going to be a day out because ours should be collected tomorrow and it's 3 weeks worth of rubbish including additional bags due to the re-organising so that should be fun for a few cats to rip open if they're left out for more than 24 hours.

If the bin men are on strike today and they're going to be working on Saturday to make up time, I wonder if they'll be getting overtime for working on Saturday?

It would be interesting to find that out Gayle, Any contacts?

The other thing that stikes me is that we pay a certain amount for these services, I would like a refund for each and every day that they aren't supplied. Who is in charge of the collection at HBC so I can address my letter directly?

I don't see why they should be paid overtime. How can you be paid overtime if you have not worked more than your contractual hours? Either way they will have been on strike and not lost any money. They were on the pickit line this morning at the Council yard as Rhonda went down town. As she came back they had gone. Typical, they can't even strike for long without having to have a rest break :D

When on strike you get no pay so I am presuming that if they work saturday it will be normal working pay to replace today's lost pay!!

Re: Bins

I would have prefered them to get a contractor to do it today and not payed them for saturday, even if it cost more money to do.
